Soda Stories: Production History

Soda Stories is a commentary about how it is for people with Deaf siblings. The production has spanned over time, with a few shoots and lots of contemplation along the way. Filming will resume in 2007.
February 2006 Greensoda Productions puts a call out for submissions from SODA's who would like to be featured on the Soda Stories Gallery page. Web published stories like these will lead the project back into production.
April 2005 Greensoda Productions decides to postpone the production of this film until a later time and focus editing resources elsewhere.
March 2005 Fifth film shoot: Eliza gets a chance to get interview footage with Sarah, her Deaf sister who is visiting from college for Spring break.
November 2004 Fourth film shoot: Kelly and Serena play charades with their Deaf sister, Sarah, and celebrate her 20th birthday.
October 2004 Third film shoot: Shawn Geppert is a SODA from Illinois visiting her Deaf sister, Shannon. Shawn is a mother of three.
August 2004 Eliza erects her company website and boldly defines SODA as an acronym for Sibling Of Deaf American. Deaf academia would argue that it stands for Sibling Of Deaf Adult, but she identifies how this new definition is a better fit.
July 2004 Second film shoot: Jessica Staley is a new mother who works three jobs. She and her Deaf sister, Selena go for a walk at the Saturday Farmer's Market in Vancouver, WA.
July 2004 First film shoot: Eliza picks up her sister Sarah from the train station and gives her a short tour of Portland.
February 2004 Eliza reintroduces herself to the yahoo SODA group and begins to look toward filmmaking as an artistic medium.
May 2002 Eliza's year at Gallaudet has left her with journals full of writing and drawings related to her experience as a SODA. Eliza begins to formulate how her perspective might be approached in a theatre piece.
November 2001 Eliza joins a yahoo group for SODA's and revels in the possibility of dialogue with other folks like herself.
